Abstract

Nowadays, in the post-pandemic educational landscape, it is intriguing to investigate whether technological supports are still relevant and necessary. This article critically summarizes and reviews the effect of technology utilization on students' engagement presented in a study by Yu et al. (2022).     Metaria is a graduate student pursuing an English Education Master's Program at Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia. With almost a decade of experience teaching English, she currently excels as an instructor for the English for Specific Purposes course at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang's Language Center. She is really passionate about ELT especially in utilizing technology in the classroom to enhance the learning experience of the students and create joyful learning.

    Bambang Yudi Cahyono is a Professor in Applied Linguistics at Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia. He earned his M.A. from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, and Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne, Australia. His research interest includes English teacher professional development, ICT in ELT, and second language writing.
