Journal History

El-Mashlahah is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by Sharia Faculty of State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Palangka Raya, Indonesia. The journal publishes research articles on Islamic Law and Local Wisdom in general and specifically in Borneo (See Focus and Scope). The articles of this journal are published bi-annually; June and December.

 

This journal was first published in 2011 with a printed version, and then in 2017 came an online version from publication Vol 7 No. 2. El-Mashlahah has been registered with CrossRef. All articles published by El-Mashlahah have a DOI number. El-Mashlahah is also indexed by Sinta, Dimensions, Index Copernicus International (ICI), Garuda, Moraref, BASE, and more indexing please go here.

 

In 2019, El-Mashlahah was accredited by the Decree of the General Director of Strengthening Research and Development, Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 28/E/KPT/2019 (Sinta 5). This accreditation is effective from publication Vol 8. No 1. 2018. Then, in 2021, the accreditation has increased to Sinta 4 (SK Number 164/E/KPT/2021). Currently, in 2023, El-Mashlahah was indexed by Scopus and Sinta 1 (SK Number 152/E/KPT/2023).

 

El-Mashlahah New Look and Improved Quality

As of Volume 11 Number 2 December 2021, the journal has developed into international publication standards, with a greater focus on article quality. This is reflected in El-Mashlahah stricter submissions policy, with more detailed guidelines (New Template) and thorough screening of articles, as well as aesthetic changes to the journal to increase readability. The cover (front and back covers) of El-Mashlahah has been changed to the new one. This change also brought with it a new, more comprehensive editorial policy. El-Mashlahah now boasts a modernized approach to academic publication, with a streamlined submission, review, and publication process.
